The Neighborhood
Kaş is a small fishing, diving, yachting, and tourist town, and a district of Antalya Province of Turkey, 168 km west of the city of Antalya.
Thins you can do while staying at our Beautiful Halal Villa in Antalya include;
1. Kaputas Beach
Kaputas Beach is 7 km from Kalkan and 20 km from Kaş. This beach is well-protected with a hidden canyon. This beach is unforgettable and mesmerizing. Please note that this beach is heavily crowded and might be a sore eye for the Conservative Muslim.
2. Kalekoy Harbour
This is a beautiful place that is secluded. The place has a rich history as the sunken city is in the middle of Kalekoy. You can take daily boat trips and visit the crusader castle. The place is quite small and the people are really friendly. The ice cream made of goat milk is highly recommended by other holidaymakers.
3. Hidayet Koyu
This is a clearwater beach is in a small and rocky area of the Mediterranean Sea. The beach is rich with marine life and blessed with delicious food, friendly service, and comfortable lounges. For Muslims trying to avoid loud music, this is not your place. Although Turkey is a Muslim country, most Muslim countries do not adhere to the Sharia Law for tourism and do not prepare their beaches for the Conservative Muslims accordingly.
4. Çıralı Beach
For Muslims looking for a private beach, Çıralı might be a good choice as Çıralı is a small and rural village located just over 2 hours drive from Kaş. It has a 3.5 km secluded beach. The journey from Kas o Çıralı will take 2 hours and it spending a day or two in Çıralı might be a good idea. Finding a quiet spot to swim is also a good prospect for those trying to avoid the privy eye. The ancient ruins of Olympos are located at the far end of its coast. A long hike up the mountains is required to reach the flames of the Chimaera or what they call the eternal flames.
The Burning Flames of Chimaera
Travel bloggers describe the Eternal Flames of Chimaera as “fascinating”. Visiting the Eternal Fire of Lycia is recommended as a must-visit when in the Antalya region.
The flames burn from crevices in the rocks of the Cirali Mountains and ancient beliefs credit this location as the source of the myth of the Chimera, a ghastly creature which is composed of the parts of various animals and who breathes hot fire flames in defense.
According to https://turkishtravelblog.com/, for hundreds of years, sailors could see the flames from the sea and used them as a landmark while tales of their origins were colorful and varied. Even though the scientific explanation for the flames is natural methane gas oozing from the rocks, I bought into the hype and mystery, placing Chimaera on my list of places to go.
5. Big Pebble Beach
This beach is just along the harbour road about ten minutes walk from the harbour and in the hot summer months is packed with Turkish kids doing all manner of dives and jumps from the surrounding rocks and platforms. Look out for a painted wooden sign that points you downhill towards the beach as it’s not immediately visible from the road. Source is from Turkeysforlife.com
